Confession: I'm Pretty Annoying

I've written about all the many ways other people annoy me, but sometimes I annoy myself. Here's some of them:

+ I'm the worst navigator ever. First of all, I fall asleep in cars almost immediately. Also, I suck at directions, even with Google maps on my phone. I literally got lost trying to get to the grocery store 2 weeks after I moved to my new spot.
Colin and Bradley when they got lost {GIF} hahaha
+ I'm the slowest eater you will ever meet. Which is super annoying when I'm  at dinner with friends, because they're always done before and the waiter wants to clean up or they're moving on to desert, and I'm still on the main dish.  It's takes me like an hour to eat a sandwich. I don't know why- I guess I just chew a lot? Whatever, I've heard this helps with your metabolism... or something...

Things I Never Thought of Until Mark Came Along

+ I pin... a lot. Especially recipes. But then I forget to look and meal plan and all that, and when I'm ready to try to make something, I'm always missing one main ingredient.

+ I procrastinate doing everything. I said I would do all this shit, made a to do list about 2 hours ago, and have since been reading/commenting on FB, Buzzfeed, and blogs, and now writing this.

Busy procrastinating all day. #Daria

+ I am a terrible story teller. I'm incapable of telling a short story. I can take a 2 min incident and turn it into a 20 min story where I get confused somewhere in the middle and forget the point of the story.

+ I am horrible with making dr appts of any kind. Mostly because I hate going to the dr and try to self diagnose until I'm basically dying. However, I'm very good at taking my meds once prescribed because feeling like shit sucks. I don't understand people who don't take meds when they don't feel good- it doesn't make sense to me.

I beg your pardon, are you ill?

+ Lately, I have gotten into the ridiculous habit of hiding things (driver's license, wallet, keys, etc) from myself somewhere in my apt when I'm buzzed. I have no idea why. However the last time, I actually left myself a "clue" by putting a CD that I knew was from my hallway closet on my dining room table. The next morning, I went to put the CD back, and Boom- found my debit card (that I didn't realize was missing yet).

Weekend Shenanigans

The only thing I dislike about great weekends is that they are always over too fast!

My "weekend" actually started on Wednesday night, since I took off Thursday and Friday.
[Fun Fact: I'm only working 7 days this month due to some overdue vacation time- holla!]

I started my weekend off right with a lovely free Janelle Monae concert in Prospect Park, BK. The gates opened at 6:30, but the lines were absolutely ridiculous, so my friend and I decided to skip that and just find a spot on the grass right outside the gates. It's a good thing we decided to do that as soon as we got there, because that area filled up quickly too! I sent my friend off to get food and drinks before the show started so we were completely settled and munching away as we waited. Of course she started late, but I was shocked that we could actually see her performance from the lawn! Of course, I didn't take any pics because I was too far away- but it was an awesome night!

Thursday was spent doing absolutely nothing all day. I slept in, made a giant to do list as I tried to get motivated to accomplish things, then said screw it and caught up on my DVR before heading out to Happy Hour in Hoboken with my friend who I haven't seen since December. It was gorgeous weather, so we lounged outside people watching and catching up.

Friday I remembered that I should actually take pics. The day was just spent cooking and cleaning/ straightening up, and laundry. Womp. At night RJ came over and we went out with his sister, her bf, and our friend G.

I really don't know why RJ is always trying to lick his sister's bf, but it happens almost every time.
I thought Saturday was going to be a chill day. Ha. Ha. We went to brunch, came back and took a nap, and then RJ was in my face waking me up and telling me we were going to Newark. Um whaaaa? I think I actually grumbled and tried to go back to sleep, which was not happening. "We're going to Chop Fest," he said. "It'll be fun," he said.

I've never been to or heard of this festival before. Apparently it's "Portugal Day" in Newark and they block off the streets and all these restaurants (specifically one called Iberia) get together, feed you delicious BBQ and tons of sangria served in what appeared to be those med/large Chinese restaurant soup containers (red, white, green, blue- you name it) and there's a huge DJ/stage set up and great music and dancing and... pretty much it's my new happy place.

Ok- I'm awake
What I thought was aftermath (way too early), our king size sangrias, and daring RJ to chug the giant sangria in 20 seconds... leading to a huge brain freeze

After a few many sangrias/eating/dancing, the guys thought it would be a great idea to create this:

"The Great Sangria Wall of Iberia"

Please note: we did not drink all of these. As we were building, people took notice and started taking pictures and contributing... but then some drunk idiot knocked it down...

So we rebuilt it! 8 rows in total!

Sunday we were supposed to head to The Big Apple BBQ, but after the surprise festival on Saturday, we decided to just relax. Actually, I'm glad we did because I heard that people were waiting 3 hours in the heat for like, 3 ribs and some beans, and then couldn't even find a spot to sit and eat- no bueno!

How was your weekend?

June Goals

So I said that I would just redo my April Goals in May. Which I didn't. In fact, May went by so dang fast that I completely forgot about um... all of them. Oops. But this month I'm taking a lot of time off from work, and I plan to recharge and refocus.

- save $300
- get a microwave, new air filters for air conditioners, and HDMI cables
- finish [at least] one book
- watch 3 new to me movies
-redo and follow a dang budget!
- create something artsy
- go to a [outdoor] concert
- eye exam and new contacts
- get car insurance
- hang artwork
- donate/sell clothes that don't fit
- blog more
- cook 5 new dishes
- get outdoors and reconnect with friends

Normally I wouldn't try to complete so many goals, however I think with the time off (and actually paying attention to them) I'll be able to complete them. Wish me luck!

What are your goals for June?

Confession: I Have a Sharp Tongue

I know this. My close friends know this. I am also brutally honest. Which is why when they ask for my opinion, they know they're going to get what I'm actually thinking, and not some sugar coated load of crap. But I also remind them of this before I give my opinion, just in case they forgot.

Recently, one of my closest friends confessed to me that she is currently cheating... on her husband. I asked why the hell she was telling me, as I was clearly going to be on his side, due to my last relationship. She said that she wanted to know my opinion.

I am not good at holding my tongue. Or being tactful. But I tried.
I told her that I thought it was wrong, no I did not understand why she was doing it, but it was her life and she would have to deal with the consequences if he found out. Which he probably would, so be careful. Oh and ya know- STOP DOING IT.

When people tell you to “calm down” or “just relax” it drives you INSANE. | 28 Problems Every Type-A Person Will Understand

And then she was surprised and pissed when she realized that he went through her phone. "Why would he do that? I was being 'good' lately." Really? Maybe you weren't being as 'good' as you thought. Obviously he was suspicious, otherwise he would have no reason to snoop.

I Just. Can't. Deal with her self-induced drama anymore. Like seriously. Yesterday she texted saying how she was listening to "Sleeping With A Friend" and having thoughts about the other guy. Being "good" was "killing her." "Being correct all day and night is exhausting."

#Castiel #Are you kidding me?

I couldn't hold my tongue fingers.

"It 'kills you' to be faithful to your husband?"

"No no no, it's not like that. You know what I mean."

Actually no, I have no clue what you mean. Maybe I 'don't get it' because I'm not married, I'm not sure. I understand thinking other people are attractive, but I'm pretty certain saying those vows means you're not going to act on those feelings. So I let it go and changed the subject, because obviously I wasn't getting through to her and I knew that whatever came out of my mouth fingers would probably continue to come out harsh. Hey, at least I stopped before I said anything else right?

What are you confessing today? Share it with Kathy!
