It's true... I have been a very bad blogger. In my defense, I have been a bit preoccupied/busy. Excuses? Maybe. Oh wells, I'm back now!
So where have I been? Well, about 3 weeks ago (sheesh it has been awhile!) I was in Atlantic City, NJ for my friend's bachelorette party! It was super fun! We started at Trump's Beach Bar, where we enjoyed lots of ice cold bevvies, sun, and a Captain Morgan competition. What, pray tell, is a Captain Morgan competition? Well, basically the Captain comes, and lets a bunch of drunken fools get on the dance floor and pose like this:
minus the sword and barrel...so just trying to keep balance. And do a bunch of other poses too. And the winner gets money or something. It was quite entertaining.
After that, we checked in to the Borgata. But as there were about 10 of us, and 2 hotel rooms, some of us had to stay back so the guest services people wouldn't know. (We brought air mattresses with us, so it wasn't like we were all squished. And lots of snacks and booze.) So we had to go back and forth a few times to pass back the room key, which wasn't so bad. But see, I had made cupcakes for the occasion. Decorated cupcakes... that I painstakingly drew peni on to, one by one, at like midnight the night before. And I was carrying a case of water along with my overnight bag. So when my friend offered to carry them for a while, I said ok. And as we were trying to be very discreet entering the "guest only" area by the elevators, she did the unthinkable.
That's right.
She dropped them.
The whole baking pan full. Of peni cupcakes. Was ruined.
weren't they cute?!
I wish I could say I didn't mind. But I did. It was the first time I even attempted to decorate cupcakes, and the bride to be didn't even get to see them! Thankfully it was an aluminum pan (so no shattering glass, and the cupcakes were covered and still good). And the ladies did eat them all at like, 4AM when they got back. Unfortunately I didn't get even one! But I heard they were delish, and that's what really counted!
Anyway, we finally all got up to the rooms, changed for dinner, and played games. Except, I was up late the night before, and after drinking all day, was tired. I managed to play one game before curling up in teh corner of the bed and falling asleep!!!
Soooo bad!
The bride-to-be's sister even started jumping on the bed to wake me up! I am told I looked up at her briefly before puling the covers over my head! But I wasn't done for the evening- I just needed a little cat nap! So after games (and shots, which I also missed, but am very happy about because I am no good at taking shots...or saying no...) we went to dinner, followed by dancing the night away at Mixx.
It was great when we first got there- great music, room to dance, decent crowd. But soon they started playing only techno. I don;t know about you, but I like to know what I'm dancing too, especially if I can sing along. And it got super crowded. AND,....no one would dance with me! This was most upsetting! I even texted the boyfriend complaining about it! I have no idea why, but whatevs. Then I became one of the "guards" of the bride to be, as the men folk were getting a little frisky, and some had to be told point blank to get away from her!
Overall, it was a super fun bachelorette party! Not very scandalous, but definitely a great time with awesome friends. I especially liked the fact that dinner and dancing were in one hotel- so if anyone got tired or cranky or whatever, they could leave without inconveniencing the rest of the party. Great idea!
