Wednesday Wickedness

Today we picked Lady Gaga. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. "Peace. it does not mean to be in a place where there is no trouble, noise, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." Do you keep your cool no matter what is going on around you?

Yes, I try to. I'm a pretty calm. It depends if I'm actually interested in what's goin on or not.

2. "Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you're wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore." Do you feel that career should be more important than your love life?

No. A career may not tell you it doesn't love you anymore, but it also won't make you smile uncontrollably, console you when you're inconsolable, take care of you when you're sick...or maybe I just haven't found a career I love yet.

3. "You have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way." In what way(s) do you feel that you are unique?

Small ways.

4. "I want women -- and men -- to feel empowered by a deeper and more psychotic part of themselves. The part they're always trying desperately to hide. I want that to become something that they cherish." Do you feel that there is a part of you that you need to hide from most people?

Yeah, but the secret's out once I started cohabitating :)

5. "Love is like a brick. You can build a house, or you can sink a dead body." Have you ever held on to a relationship even though you truly knew it was already over?

Yes I have. Not one of my proudest moments.

6. "Sometimes in life you don't always feel like a winner, but that doesn't mean you're not a winner, you want to be like yourself." Would your friends say that you are a winner in this game of life?

Yes, I think they would.

7. "A glamorous life is quite different to a life of luxury. I don’t need luxury. For years, I was practically broke but I was still very vain and glamorous. And I still am." Can you tell us about a time when you were broke and yet still happy?

Sure, right now. Ok, I'm not completely broke, but I am happy. And I don't always have enough money to do what I want to do. But it doesn't cost a lot of money to be happy- lots of happy moments are free, especially if you're an optimist.

8. "I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody. So it’s okay not to have sex, it’s okay to get to know people. I’m celibate. Celibacy’s fine." Do you think staying celibate between relationships important?

Yes. I don't think sleeping around is safe, healthy, or in any way rewarding. In fact, I think it makes things more complicated and stressful.

9. "Fight and push harder for what you believe in, you'd be surprised, you are much stronger than you think." Tell us about an incident where you were stronger than you thought you were.

Sophmore year of college. Don't really want to get into it, but I did realize that it was manageable afterall.

10. "I lie in bed and try to pray and breathe. I have a very overactive mind. I’m the sort of person who’d never take medication to calm myself. It’s maddening. But I love what comes out." Do you feel that you always have the ability to calm yourself?

No, but I have several tactics that seem to work pretty well so far.

Attention Shoppers...

*O.M.G.*
I just found possibly the most dangerous website I've ever seen. Well, maybe not dangerous for everyone, but certainly me. Because as much as I claim I don't like to shop....
I do. I  really really do.

And this site I found allows you to pick your favorite stores, and get daily or weekly updates with their sales. It also lets you see regular priced items, new releases, everything...and put together outfits, and put items on a wishlist, and see what other people put together as outfits...and then...you can shop their outfits!!  Anything listed -- for instance: Say "MissG" puts together an outfit- dress, shoes, hat, necklace. And you only like the necklace- you can move your cursor over the necklace, see who's selling it, if it's still available, how much,...and buy it.

This all started because I received an email from Urban Outfitters informing me of their "Biggest Sale Ever. Items starting at $9.99." I don't know about you, but I've never seen anything for less than $30 in that store, other than like, socks, so of course I was intrigued. And then I saw this:

How cute is that?
And I'm not even a fan of rompers. In fact, I'm quite anti-rompers because that chick Padma (ummm p.s. what is she even famous for again? Other than hosting Top Chef? Ugh.) was wearing one on an episode of Top Chef and C was practically drooling. But this one is just too cute. Unfortunately for me, they don't have my size.
 **sigh**

Anywho, the site is called ShopStyle. Go have fun. And try not to waste too much time at work!

Monday Minute!

Monday Minute

Has anyone you've known personally lived to at least 100?
Nope

What material possession do you value the most?
Probably my cell phone. It keeps me connected. And pictures.

What do you think happens to us after we die?
You go to either Heaven or Hell. Or some alt reality like in Lost...

Most embarrassing item in your house?
Probably childhood pics. And my vibrator. I would be *totally* embarrassed if anyone saw that!

and finally...

If you could rename yourself, what would your name be?
Ha funny story...

In sophmore year of high school I decided I no longer liked my name and would like to be called Melanie. I told my friends and teachers. A lot of my friends when calling me would be "Hey, Da....Mel! Sorry I almost forgot!" One day, my science teacher called on me for an answer. I got it wrong. He told me that I was smarter as Danielle. I quickly went back to my real name, and haven't tried to change it since.

Happy Monday!

The Questions

1.If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?
I wouldn't. I don't want plastic sugery. Yes, I would love bigger boobs, but I'm not prepared to deal with that sort of pain...ever.

2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
I used to love "Passions" when I was in high school, but I don't follow/watch any now because I'm never home and they all are just ridiculous.

3. Favorite clothing brand?
I love Express. And Banana Republic, The Limited, and Arden B,...but they're kind of expensive.

4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
My apartment is small. If I had a house, I would probably choose maid service, but for now, I'll take the shopping spree!

Because I really want to look like this:

Ummm no.

6. Favorite Disney Princess?
Jasmine! Love her! Finally a strong willed, intelligent Disney princess.

I'm not much a cryer...but I did shed a tear during "The Notebook".

Sharing a Giggle...

Dave comes home from work early one day. He walks into the kitchen and sees his wife on her knees, scrubbing the floor. He watches the rhythmic movements of her bum high in the air for a few seconds, before he can't take it anymore.

Without a word, he lifts up her skirt, slides in and gives her the pounding of her life until they both orgasm loudly. Then he zips himself up, gets to his feet and kicks up her arse as hard as he can.

"What the fuck was that for?!", she screams at him.

"That was for not turning round to see who the fuck it was."

That was stolen from The Mercurial Wife. But it was too funny not to share :)

Wednesday Wickedness

Time for another Wednesday Wickedness! You can play along *here*.

Today we picked Heather Locklear!

1. "With a parent, it's always guilt. You want to be there, but you kind of also want to be here." Tell us about a time where you had to be selfish with your time, and felt guilty about it (whether it was time taken from your children or a S/O).

I feel guilty when I go out on a Friday night without him, because I want to see my friends and go out, and he usually likes to stay in. But I know he misses me, so I feel aa little guilty.

2. "Sex appeal is not on purpose." Do you feel that you can create more sex appeal or that it's just a given?

I feel like it's just a given. You either have it, or you don't.

3. "One man is not enough." Has there ever been a time when monogamy seemed difficult?

So diffiucult that I didn't stay monogamous. But that led me to C, so it all worked out :)
4. "I think I've always been good so God wouldn't strike me dead." Do your religious beliefs really influence your behavior?

No. I believe in God's power of forgiveness!
5. "You just have to forgive them for being men." Do you feel there are some things in a S/O that you can't change because of their sex?

Yes, things like leaving the toilet seat up. Would I really remember to put it down if I didn't have to sit on it every time I had to pee? Probably not. (C, do not use that as an excuse to not put it down!!)

6. "When I look in the mirror I see the girl I was when I was growing up, with braces, crooked teeth, a baby face and a skinny body." Do you see a younger less secure person when you gaze in the mirror?

Sometimes.
7. “I was a pregnant vixen.” If you have ever been pregnant, or have been with a woman who was, how did effect your sex life?

Sorry, never been pregnant...next!
8. “Everything needs to be worked on...” What would you like to work on to become a better person?

Hmm...let's start with not being late to things and go from there. Baby steps.
9. "From an early age, I was aware of what America meant, and how the Marines at Camp Pendleton were ready to defend us at a moment's notice. I also remember what fabulous bodies those troops had." When did you think that you understood the sacrifices that people in the military make on behalf of their country?

When my friend and cousin were about to join the Army. That show Army Wives. And reading blogs by families where members are away because of the military.
10. "The bigger the better. Do I dare say that!?" In your experience, is there truth here?

There is some truth there. Though I have been with some that were large and didn't know how to work it, and some who were very small who definitely knew how to work it. I'd rather have large though...just sayin'.

Family Matters Pt. 1

I have to say, this Father's Day was the best in recent memory.

I have a father...everyone does. But not having a "dad" of my own, and most of my friends being in the same boat, it was really nice to see how a father-child (well, grown child) could be. It was actually enjoyable doing something for Father's Day. In the past,  me and my mom would usually go visit 2 older (male) family friends, one who I called "Grandpa Bud" and one who was "Uncle Art." Yes, we gave gifts and spent time with each of them, but it never really felt like family. It was too calm. Too formal. Too many "niceties."

I have to say it was the same for all "family centered" holidays. Christmas. Thanksgiving. Easter. All holidays in which families typically get together and do something incredibly mundane, like go out to dinner all together. But to me, that was normal. I wanted nothing more than to argue over which family member's house everyone was going to and who was making what. Being pissed that I was stuck in the kitchen with the ladies while the men were watching football. Arguing about whose recollection of old memories rang truest, while Uncle Joe told gross jokes, and Aunt Jess got plastered...again. Which everyone pretended to get mad about but kind of enjoyed because it was hysterical.

Instead, I recall more than once having Chinese food or turkey sandwiches on Thanksgiving, and watching every movie we could sneak into on Christmas Day. I would be embarrassed when family friends would invite me and my mom over for holiday dinners, because it always seemed to be out of pity. "Aww, they don't have any other family to spend the holidays with, let's invite them over" or "why don't they have any other family?" seemed to be present questions looming in the air. We didn't want anyone's pity. We had chosen this path....or someone had, and I had no say in it.

That was, until college... but more on that later, in Part 2.

This Father's Day was spent with C and his parents. We went to a small restaurant for brunch. There was small annoyances...
"Ugh, that restaurant line is too long...let's see if the Cafe 72 line is shorter...",

corny jokes...
"Hey, I got slippers! I always need slippers! And look, they're monogrammed- L and R!",

and playful banter...
C and his rents arguing over who was going to pay. I started giggling, and his mom goes "Yeah I bet your family is calm..." at which I answered "No, actually I'm pretty sure my mom is crazier than you!"

It was a good time. And though I'm sure the questions still loomed, at least from his mother's side, I didn't feel they were as palpable, or mean-spirited, as they felt coming from others.

The Monday Minute!

Monday Minute

Time for another Monday Minute! Wanna play? Link up *here*.

1 - Have you ever had any feelings towards one of your teachers back in the day?

I had a crush on a high school history teacher. He wasn't even my teacher, but he was really cute!
And I'm currently in luurve with a high school history teacher...I'm seeing a trend here...

2 - What's the most embarrassing thing that happened while at work?

Having a pair of dirty underwear fall out of a pants leg. It fell out in the ladies room. I denied it was mine, but I threw them out later when no one was around.

3 - When was the last time you crapped yourself sharted?

A few years ago...at my ex's apt...while wearing his basketball shorts. So, so embarrassing. Lucky for me, I was already in the bathroom, so I was able to wash them right away. Obviously, I never told him.

4 - What is one thing you have always kept a secret and why have you kept this a secret for so long?

I'm not telling the secret right here, right now. Too much pressure! But I will say that I've only told 3 people the whole story, and I've kept it a secret for so long because 1) it's painful and uncomfortable to talk about, 2) hardly anyone would believe me if I did say it and 3) I am no longer friends with any of the 3 people I told...who I thought I would be bff's with forever, and I don't want to open up to anyone like that if they are not going to be in my life for a very, very long time.

5 - What's your best advice for us habitual coffee drinkers as to not have to poop right after drinking it?

I don't think there's anything that can be done!

GTKY Sunday

*to play..copy the questions..answer them..then come back here and link up*

Getting to know YOU

The questions..

1. While at the beach, pool, etc..Do you cover up your assets or show them off?
I like to have something covering my booty. Other than that, I don't cover too much.

2. Road trips or Plane trips?
I haven't been on a road trip in a while, and having fun one one really depends on who you're with. I like plane because you get there faster.

3. I can't stand it when...?
My commute takes longer or I get to work late because of a late/broken train

4. Have you ever gone topless at the beach?
I have not. I'm not a big fan of my boobs- they're too small. But that's not to say that I never will- just haven't gotten up the courage yet.

5. How many blog carnivals do you do a week?
I don't know what that is...

6. My favorite thing about the weekend is...?
Not having to go to work! And being with C :)

7. Pancakes or waffles?
French toast!

8. Water Park or Amusement Park?
Amusement park with water rides!

Is This Summer?

That has been my face for the last 7.5 hours. So.Damn.Bored.

I think what is adding to my boredom is the fact that, for the first weekend in...I don't even know how long...C and I don't have plans.

Usually, we have something to do. Some obligatory baby birthday party. Regular birthday party. Said we would go visit somebody. And this weekend...nothing. I guess I should be happy- we can actually do what we want to do! Hooray! But no. Because I live for weekends, and I don't have anything to look forward to.... at least not until July 4.

And even that I'm not super excited for. Because I really wanted to take off July 1-2, and go to Montreal for the International Jazz Festival. But because of C's hestitance (which I later found out was becuase he didn't want to go to Canada on America's birthday), I was not able to take off work. And, obviously, we're not going to Montreal. Which I have been saying I wanted to go to for at least 6 months (not every day, but definitely mentioned more than once). So we can't go. But I do have a 3 day weekend. And we are going to a BBQ...

but it's...

how do I put this...

I like his friends. I really do. I've formed a bond with the other girls, and everything is cool. But lately,...well exccept for this week when I got to see 2 of my friends, one from college and the other a coworker (who I don't consider a true slash good friend, but a female whose company I enjoy and who was available to go out with me for Shecky's Girls Night Out), I really don't see my friends often.

It's not anyone's fault really. Where I live and work is not close to where any of them live or work. But take this weekend for instance. Like I said, we're free. And my good friend is having a party at her place. But she lives in Lancaster, PA (2.5 hrs away from my apt). And it's an evening party. With lots of games and drinking. Obviously, C can't drink and really have a good time (with these strangers...he's met my friend, but not her other friends) because he has to drive alllll the way back home after. (And yes, he has to drive because I don't know how to drive stick.) So I had to tell her we won't be able to make it. But I want to be able to make it! I want to see her! I want to see her place and play games and drink with her!

I just don't want it to be so damn difficult!!

Also, when left to our own devices, we usually wind up doing absolutely nothing. Which C loves. But I don't.

Take Memorial Day Weekend for example. We didn't have plans. But we waited too late and it was too expensive and too rushed to actually plan anything. So we wound up doing nothing. We tried to deal, and decided we would go out for our favorite, Trenton Tomato Pie. It's BYOB, so we bought a bottle and headed the 20 or so min there. Only to discover that they were closed. So we went to a hibachi restaurant that we'd past several times and wanted to check out. But there we found a Princeton University douchebag party. It was like a frat-sorority house had taken over. And they were all wasted and standing on chairs giving obnoxious speeches and starting sing-a-longs. I mean, it was funny, because it was so horrible, but not a nice romantic dinner like I was hoping for.

Another thing I was looking forward to was the Prom. Which I found out the day of (after having spent the night before trying on dresses and had already cleared with my boss that I would be leaving early) taht I wouldn't be able to attend because they had over-sold tickets. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if I had never been able to go anyway. But it was being held at the Camden Aquarium, and I went last year, and I really wanted to go. I tried to shrug it off like it didn't really matter, because at that point what else could I do, but I really was disappointed. I just sat home and did nothing. Fell asleep before C even got home despite all my attempts to stay awake.

*Sigh*

It's not that I haven't done anything fun. I went to see Cirque du Soleil's Ovo in late April. Followed by a concert by the awesome band Ozomatli, the Revlon Walk, a Phillies game, a Cinco de Mayo party, a BBQ, a brunch, and a Lost Finale party. But again....during all these things, I didn't see my friends.

And I don't have any plans to see my friends.

And I guess that's what's bothering me most. Obviously, I'm most comfortable with people I've known longer, who I didn't meet through C. I have no plans for tonight, while C is at a Phillies game. I have no plans for this weekend, and though C says we'll go to the beach or "do something", I'm doubtful. I'm semi- looking forward to the 4th of July BBQ. I'm definitely looking forward to July 12th, where me and all his "friends-girlfriends-who-have-now-become-friends" are going on a Girl's Beach Day.

Other than that...I'm just kinda "eh." And I've been that way for a little while now, and I'm kinda getting tired of it. I'd like to see my friends more. I'd like to live closer to them. Or have a car so I can go see them without taking 5 hours to get there (via public trans) or making C drive.

But what can ya do?

Wednesday Wickedness

Hi and welcome to Wednesday Wickedness. We are like other memes in that we will ask you ten questions each and every Wednesday. But our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a famous person and pick ten of their quotes. Each of our questions will be based on the quotes. Got it? Great! Let's begin this week's meme!

Today we picked Bruce Springsteen. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. “When it comes to luck, you make your own.” Do you believe you have that type of control over your luck?
Not at all. I don't think you can "make your own luck." I think that some things just happen for a reason, and you have no control over it, but it all works out in the end.(That does not mean I believe people should just sit back and let life happen to them though- I think the decisions one makes will lead them in a particular direction, but at some point luck and/or fate take over. I'm a romantic at heart.)

2. “You've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above.” What is something you have had difficulty rising above?
Yeast.

3. “Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings, and a king ain’t satisfied till he rules everything.” Would you want to be rich?
No, I don't want to be rich. I want to be "comfortable." And not have any debt.

4. “The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with.” Tell us about a song that helps you "face the world."
This song changes with the seasons. Right now it is "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars.

5. “In America everything's about who's number one today.” Have you ever been a fan of someone you thought would last but turned out to be a flash in the pan?
Not anyone famous, but yes, I've definitely done that with friends.

6. “Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse?” Has any dream of yours come true?
Yes.

7. “Our American government has strayed too far from American values. It is time to move forward. The country we carry in our hearts is waiting.” What would you change if you became the president?
I would never want to be President. Someone is going to criticize you no matter what you do- you just can't please everybody. Next!

8. "Yeah, I had gay friends. The first thing I realized was that everybody's different, and it becomes obvious that all of the gay stereotypes are ridiculous." How do you feel about gay rights?
I'm all for gay rights. Let them get married, have babies, adopt babies, be free. Gay people are still people- they should have the same rights regardless of who they want to sleep with at night.

9. " It's a sad man my friend who's living in his own skin and can't stand the company." Have you ever been disappointed in yourself?
I'm usually disappointed in myself at least once a week.

10. "The best music is essentially there to provide you something to face the world with." What's your favorite type of music? What's your favorite band?
First off...why is this quote on here again? Did Bruce Springsteen really have that little to say, that this one liner had to be put on here twice? And if so, maybe the quiz-maker should've chose someone else. Just sayin.

I like pop. And I know the words to most pop songs, and singing releases endorphins, the happy hormones, so then I'm happy,...or at least happier. I like some rock too, for the lyrics.

Sunday Stealing: The Dark Side

1. You’re building your dream house. What’s the one thing that this house absolutely, positively MUST HAVE? (other than the obvious basics of course)
Fireplace. The apartment I have now is the first one I've ever had, and in the winter, it is wonderful! And an outdoor hot tub. With a patio os at least some kind of covering over it. One of the houses I rented out right after college had this, and even in winter it was so relaxing to sit out there, with a jet massaging your back, and a cold beer in hand!

2. What is your dream car?
Oh ya know...Maserati...Aston Martin...Bugatti...

3. What is your favorite website that isn’t a blog?
Facebook

4. iPhone 4 or Droid, which do you want?
Uhh don't really know the difference, so whichever!

Watch TV, talk to a friend, surf the internet, clean, read magazines...

9. Who was your favorite teacher when you were growing up. (Grade school, Middle School, Jr. High or High School only.)
Miss Weber. She was my music teacher from 4th-8th grade. She used to stay afterschool to chat, and sometimes we'd go out for ice cream. We still keep in touch :)

10. You get one pass to do something illegal or immoral. What are you gonna do?
Ooooh...waaaaay too many things!

I think it could definitely happen. I'm not much into politics though, so can't say whether it would be good or not.

14. Which fictional, TV show character you would shag anytime?
Most of the celebrities I would want a free pass with are in movies. So...I guess Paul Walker...he's on some TV show now I think...I wouldn't want to shag a "character"- sorry.

15. What is your greatest pet peeve?
Goodness I have so many, I can't pick just one. But one that is anooying me at the moment is people who talk with their mouth full of food. so.gross.

overbearing -and- impotence

22. What were you doing this morning at 8am?
Riding on a train to work

23. Do you have any famous relatives?
Nope

25. What is something you are excited about?
July 16th- taking off work for girls' day at the beach...REALLY hope it doesn't rain!

27. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?
I need to do something with this hair...

 28. What were you doing at midnight last night?
Prepping for today, going to bed

29. What’s a word that you say a lot?
Seriously

30. Who is your worst enemy?
I have 2. Both not going to be listed here, sorry!

The questions..
1. If you could have one of Superman's, powers which one would you want? Superhuman strength..Flight..Superhuman speed..X-Ray vision..etc
Speed...I'm always in a rush!

2. The best thing I ever won is....?
Hmm not sure. I hardly ever win anything. I suppose winning $42 at Roulette in PR was pretty cool.

3. Have you ever skyped with a bloggy friend?
Nope, don't really use Skype.

4. What is your favorite Summer month?
July. I love 4th of July, and bbq's, and the hot weather! Though August is close second because by then most un-heated pools are warm, and rivers, and even the ocean seems warmer!

5. Pool, Lake, or Ocean?
I used to go to Girl Scout camp every summer when I wasa  kid, where we had to having swimming lessons in the mornings and it was always so cold, so now I'm quite "anti-lakes." I like the ocean, much more in the Caribbean though where it's warmer, plus I don't like getting sand in my shorts! So I guess pool :p

6. One of my favorite Summer memories is.....?
Summer of 2002, and Summer Excel.
I had just graduated high school, was accepted into college and going early for a summer program, was innocent and naive...I was still friends with a lot of friends from high school and met some great (at the time) people at college, had my first couple alcoholic beverages, was living away from home, people thought I was "cute/attractive looking" for the first time ever, made out (several times) with my crush...such a great summer.

7. What's your favorite secret bargain?
Sephora online sales, because you usually get an awesome free gift on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Old Navy flip flops, but that's no secret. And street fairs/flea markets, just because it's fun to look around- and you can usually find some cheap and interesting things!

8. Do you plan on or have you been watching the World Cup?
I saw part of it this past Saturday becuase I was slightly bored at a baby birthday party and it was on,...maybe I'll watch more towards the end when it's more suspenseful.

Saturday 9: Goodbye to You

1. Have you had to say goodbye to a good friend or lover because they were moving?

Yes. The first one was my best friend from 1st to 3rd grade. Her name was Shaneisha. I still have her crayon box. She was my BFF, but she had to move with her family back to Jamaica.

2. Have you ever wanted to use personal information about someone to sort of "blackmail" them? If yes, tell us about it.

Yes. I definitely remember wanting to balckmail someone, but I don't think I ever actually did it.

3. What two things influenced the choice of your present job or to stay at home?

One, I needed a job. Two, it paid decently well. At least more than I was making.

4. Do you like warm weather? How warm does it get where you live? What is the best way to spend a hot, summer day?

I love warm weather! It gets up in the 100's on the hottest days. Best way to spend a hot summer day is on the beach with friends and C. And drinks. Mmm hmm...

5. What do you find "hot" in a man/woman? What is the first thing you notice about someone who is hot? Do you ever think of yourself as hot?

What I find "hot" first is usually size. I don't like short and/or scrawny guys. Then I notice eyes, followed quickly by smile. What I find really hot is personality and sense of humor, but obviously you can't tell this just by looking at someone. And yes, I do think I'm pretty hot most days ;)

6. Are you quick to anger? How do you react when you are angry or frustrated? What do you do to cool down?

I wouldn't say I'm quick to anger, but I let things build up and then I explode. I react usually by screaming and yelling. To cool down, usually I need to be away from teh person, and either talk to friends, or do something completely mindless like memes (sorry!), watching TV,...something to keep my mind distracted. Writing helps too.

7. In your family, who is the least like the rest of you?

My family consists of pretty much 2 people, so can't really answer...next!

8. What are a few great books that you've taken along to the beach or on vacation in years past? If you aren't a big reader, what do you do to while away the lazy hours?

I don't usually bring books because they are heavy and I have to pay attention to keeping them safe while I'm away from my spot on the beach. I'm more of a magazine reader/iPod listener/talker.

9. Do you like going outside during a thunderstorm and watching the lightening?

Heck no!!! I like to curl up under a blanket on my couch with some good TV or book when there's a thunderstorm!

Coming home from a party or concert, passed out in the passenger seat

2. What's the last thing you spent more than $100 on?
All at once? I think it was at Old Navy...I went in for $1 flip flops,...and then...oops!

Plain, ordinary- light blue background I believe.

4. Where did the shirt you are currently wearing come from?

6. What color is your toothbrush?
Pink and white

7. Name something you collect and tell us about it.
From the looks of my apartment I collect magazines! But really I just don't have time/energy/desire to read them all! I do keep a collection to tear funny words/pics out of for scrapbooking though, and for helpful tips on various situations/problems.

8. Last restaurant you ate at. Who were you with? How was it?
Old Man Rafferty's yesterday. It was my first time there, and I was there for a friend's birthday. I was with about 20 other people, more than half of whom I didn't know. But the company was good, and the food was DELICIOUS! I love a good brunch.

9. Who was the last person you bought a birthday card for?
My friend's birthday yesterday, Kelly!

10. What is your worst bad habit?
Hmm I think it's a tie between smoking and procrastination.

12. Your favorite pizza toppings?
Either jalapeno and ham (Hawaiian) or sausage. Or plain old cheese.

16. Name something you wouldn't want to buy used?
Bed sheets, shoes, underwear (inclugin lingerie), bathing suits, goggles...

17. Which shoe do you put on first?
Right. Always. If I somehow or for some reason put on the left one first, I have to take both off and redo. It's a weird quirk I have.

18. What is the last thing you remember losing?
My mind!! No relaly, I think I misplaced a pair of earrings...I couldn't find them this morning.

19. What is the ugliest piece of furniture in your house?
A swivel chair that was C's like, grandmother's or great-aunt's or something. It is an ugly orange-y patterned fabric, stiff, and not at all comfortabe to sit on!

20. Last thing you bought and ended up returning?
I believe it was a pair of pants that C's mom bought me for Christmas. They were SOOO tight!

Though I do have to go return Old Navy flip flops (they didn't have the color I wanted when I bought them for $1), a Victoria's Secret bra (I bought this bra too small, I've been calling for over a month and they never seem to have my size- it's one of the most common sizes- so rediculous), and a book (I bought it for my mom for Mother's Day, but first she stood me up ON Mother's Day, and then asked for money instead, so I'm returning her present).

21. What perfume/cologne do you wear? If none, why?
To work, I wear Philosophy's Amazing Grace. It's a crisp, clean scent. For going out, I switch between J.Lo's Love at First Glow and Britney's Curious.

22. Your favorite board game?
APPLES to APPLES!!! So much fun!

23. What was the last board game you played?
I think it was Apples to Apples. Actually...I'm not sure if that counts as a board game...

24. Where did your vehicle come from?
I don't currently have a vehicle :(

The last one I had came from my mom's friend who was a mechanic and was able to do a fixer-upper on a gorgeous silver Hyundai Tiberon though.

25. If a movie was made about your life what would the theme song be?
Hmmm...not sure. Maybe The Adventure by Angels and Aiwaves

The guy from "The End of The World" flash video found here. Works just about every time!

The last 2 weddings I went to didn't have bridesmaids...sooo I don't remember.

Geeting to Know You Sunday

*To play..copy the questions..answer them..then come back here and link up*
The questions..

1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them?
Yes. That's gross. And I wouldn't want someone letting me walk around with boggers hanging out.

2. What are you passionate about?
Right now I don't feel like I have time to be truly passionate about anything. I feel like I'm in a rat race- every day just working, commuting, eating, doing more work, and going to sleep to repeat, with some fun events sprinkled in at times. So...I guess I'm passionate about "doing nothing"/relaxing!

3. How long have you been blogging?
On and off since 2000-ish.

4. What is your favorite "summer" drink?
Non-alcoholic: sweet tea. Alcoholic: White Zinfandel or Mimosas (beer is good any time of year)

5. What is your favorite type of music?
R&B, pop, reggae

6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?
set the alarm...like 4 times

7. My Summer vacation plans are...?
Not sure since we may be heading to a wedding in Cabo San Lucas Mexico in September. We may just spend the summer saving. Or if we can't afford it, then probably a short trip to Florida...or Puerto Rico...

8. My favorite must have, can't live without, beauty product is?
lip gloss- I'm loving Revlon's Super Lustrous in Pink Pursuit that I got for *free!* in the goody bag I received from participating in the Revlon Walk. It's super shiny, and is thick enough for staying power, but not overwhelmingly goopy. And the shade works for just about every skin tone.

Saturday 9: If I Had a Hammer

I admit, I've become slightly addicted to memes lately. I promise I will write a real post soon though, just bear with me for a lil bit! Thanks! And now my newest addition: Saturday 9!

1. Are you handy with tools?
No, not really. I'm better at being "the handyman's helper."

2. What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
Monday off- 3 day weekend!

3. What was the worst thing that happened to you this week?
I didn't get to go to the prom (as a chaperon) :( And I only found out the day of. And I was all excited, and trying on dresses the night before, and I had already told my boss that I would be leaving early from work. And the prom was being held at the Camden Aquarium- so it was really pretty with like 2 full walls of tanks and pretty fishies. *tear*

4. Do you think you act your age?
Sometimes.

5. Describe an item of clothing that has definitely seen better days but that you refuse to dispose of and still wear. Why won't you toss it?
The only item I can think of is the first pair of jeans my butt busted through. But it happened on my 20th beithday, so I had my friends write on them, and therefore I won't toss them. I don't wear them anymore though, obviously. Actually, I don't even remember where I put them, but I definitely wouldn't have thrown them out.

6. What is your favorite summertime beverage?
White zinfandel, mimosas, sweet tea...

7. Have you ever lied about your age?
Of course- when I was under 21~!

8. What was the most memorable birthday party you've attended?
My friend's 30th birthday CRUISE to the BAHAMAS! Best birthday party everrr!

9. What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
The only things that truly frighten me are death and lonliness, and I can't trace back either one of them, sorry.

Wednesday Wickedness

Hey guys! It's another installment of Wednesday Wickedness! From the *site*: We are like other memes in that we will ask you ten questions each and every Wednesday. But our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a famous person and pick ten of their quotes. Each of our questions will be based on the quotes. Got it? Great! Let's begin this week's meme!

Phil Jackson-former baller/current coach of the LA Lakers

1. "Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart.” Do you ALWAYS keep an open mind?
I try to, but I'm sure I don't.

2. “Wisdom is always an overmatch for strength.” Who is the wisest person you know? Who is the strongest?
Veronica is the wisest. My mom is probably the strongest person I know- gotta give credit where it's due.

3. "Yes, victory is sweet, but it doesn't necessarily make life any easier the next season or even the next day." Do you think a successful day at your job makes the next day better or not?
I think a successful day makes you look forward to the next day more positively, so in that respect, yes, it makes it better.

4. "...True joy comes from being fully present in each and every moment, not just when things are going your way." How would we tell by your behavior if you are having a bad day?
I wear my heart on my sleeve. You would most definitely know if I'm having a bad day!

5. "I gave it my body and mind, but I have kept my soul." Do you have days when you feel you gave it your all, but may have compromised your values?
uhhh...sure?

6. "Your problems never cease. They just change." What do you feel is your biggest problem at the moment?
Money. "Mo' money, mo' problems"...less money, mo' problems too! Oh, and finding a new place to live being that they just raised our rent for next year...arghhh.

7. "My dad always had this little sign on his desk: "The bigger your head is, the easier your shoes are to fill." He really drilled that in." Does your ego sometimes get in your way?
Yup.

8. "There is a saying that I love...It says: "There are no Zen masters, there's only Zen." "Zen master" is a contradiction in terms. You don't master Zen." Do you believe in Zen? If yes, can it be mastered?
These questions are boring me. Phil Jackson seems to have some sucky quotes. I'm all for Zen- Namaste friends.

9. "You can not teach competitiveness." Do you believe you could teach someone, like your child, to be competitive?
No, I think they have to be competitve on their own.

10. "Home is where the heart is, right?” Obviously Phil didn't originate this quote. He said it when asked if he'd retire after this season. Do you believe home is not a place but rather a state of mind?
Yes- I believe home is a state of mind. What's with all the yes/no questions?

Getting to Know You Sunday

To play..copy the questions..post them..than come back here and link up!

1. Have you ever snooped around someone else's house?
I most certainly have in the past. Snooping through now-ex bf's apartments was a favorite. Never knew what I would find!

2. Can guys and girls be friends?
Yes, but not without some sort of romantic inclinations on one side or the other. Ever seen When Harry Met Sally...I think Harry explained it best.

3. Can you curl your tongue?
Yup!

4. Have you ever stolen anything?
Yes, but nothing major. Except maybe a heart or two ;)

5. Would you rather talk on the phone or text?
Text

6. Memorial Day plans?
Well... we were trying to go on a lil getaway, but lack of planning and money put a wrench in that. So mainly just hanging out/relaxing. Yesterday was fun- we went to a friend's for some time by the pool, BBQ, and Yahtzee.

7. What do you do to relax?
Watch TV/romantic comedies, read mags, have an adult beverage or two, hang out with friends, read blogs, listen to music, play Solitaire, hang with C...

8. Do you do anything to honor those that have died fighting for our freedom?
Not really. Say a lil prayer in thanks. I used to go to participate in the parade, but not in years.
